Hi all! I had a cervical anterior fusion and dissectomy using adult stem cells and platelet rich plasma 11 days ago. I'm recovering wonderfully! Basically no pain in my neck! I had two severely herniated discs, my cervical spine was impinged and I was close to caude equina syndrome. So I had to get it done after years of treatments, PT, radiofrequency ablations and cortisone shots.
I was very surprised by my orthopedic surgeon using stem cells instead of my hip bone or cadaver bone for the dissectomy. Shocked! Idk yet if he managed to get it covered by my insurance (fat chance of that) or he just DID it, but it's done. I see him for a follow up on Monday so I'll know more then.
In the meantime, I'm very happy it's done. We'll check in a couple weeks to see if there has been any regeneration of cells!
HOW KOOL IS THIS?
Remember in Star Trek when McCoy slipped this one hospital patient a pill and they showed her later yelling to everyone...doc gave me a pill and I grew a new kidney!!!!! Well I guess the future is HERE!
